Help Me! What Does That Acronym Mean?

The adult content creation industry is filled with acronyms. It helps us shorten down lengthy names that we have to repeat over and over again, and it also helps talk about things in discrete ways with a certain amount of privacy. I have previously written a list of acronyms but I thought it was time to do an update of the acronyms I am asked about most frequently, this time including a bit of a description as well to help you on your way. The times they are a-changing, and that means what we use to describe ourselves and what we do must also change too.

SW – Sex Worker

This one has always been a bit funny for me, having worked in human services for coming up two decades. The acronym SW in that field stands for “social worker” and is used quite a lot (especially in casenotes, reports etc). So when I started to see it written in relation to strippers, full service providers, camgirls, pornstars and phone sex operators, I would have these moments of confusion. What the hell are these people talking about? Let’s just say context is everything.

CBT – Cock and Balls Torture

Another one which gave me some awkward times as I began negotiating the world of BDSM and providing therapy. CBT in a therapeutic setting stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is a therapy that helps people change problematic behaviours. In BDSM, it is about treating the family jewels in an extremely aggressive way, all the while with consent. It could be thought of as a behaviour modification program too I guess.

JOI/JOE – Jerk Off Instruction/Encouragement

This is one of my top requested video types. Basically, it is an interactive experience where I talk you through exactly how I want you to touch yourself. Some people would argue that JOI must have a cum countdown (so you get told exactly when you can come) but JOE doesn’t have to. I disagree, as I think you can jerk off without cumming, although if you do want to have a happy ending to your video, you should probably make sure the star is going to finish on that note. One of my top selling JOI clips is “Oily Ass JOI”, which does not include a countdown, but is very satisfying, regardless, in the opinion of those who have purchased.

CEI – Cum Eating Instructions

I didn’t think eating one’s own cum was such a big deal… until I included it in a clip and everyone who saw it went BANANAS! It is a perfect addition to a JOI clip that culminates in a cum countdown. In a nutshell, the performer instructs you on how and when to eat your cum. I like to provide graphic descriptions of how the cum should look and where it should land before it is eaten. For a taste (see what I did there?) of the Rem Sequence approach to CEI, check out my clip “Kinky PAWG JOI”. It is a long one but well worth the 20 minutes it will take to watch it!

PH – PornHub

Onto the clipsites! A lot of models will abbreviate clipsite names because a) it is easier when we are talking about them all the time (that is the main purpose of an acronym!) and b) because saying the whole word can get us in trouble on non-adult friendly platforms (looking right at you Instagram). PornHub have run into a little bit of trouble of late, with Mastercard and Visa pulling out of allowing them to use them as a payment method (banks and the war on porn is worthy of a whole post in itself). So Visa are currently on a hold with PornHub while Mastercard have called quits for good. This means that PornHub is attempting to do a cleanup, not allowing unverified content on the platform and reviewing clips before allowing them to go live, in the hope that Visa will reconsider their withdrawal. Anyway, I still have a tonne of content on there that you can watch for FREE (126 vids and counting) so it is well worth going over and subscribing to my channel. Check it out here.

MV – ManyVids

ManyVids is my go-to adult site right now and I am growing it as much as possible. ManyVids works for me because they have all the features my fans love. You can buy clips, photosets, other store items (like my used panties!), join model fan clubs, buy a membership (accessing a tonne of clips for a special price) AND they have a live cam function as well as a social media feed! I mean, what else could you ask for in a site? And all my new member followers get a special welcome message from yours truly. If you haven’t signed up yet, what are you waiting for? And if you haven’t checked out my profile yet, you will find it here.

AVN – Adult Video Network

AVN (the Adult Video Network) have expanded into the waiting market for subscription based adult content sites with AVN Stars. I have been building my site there and personally I really love the versatility of it. It is one of my top sites alongside ManyVids. It offers the same options as other subscription sites (content locked for subscribers only, Pay-To-View messaging, live shows for subscribers) as well as a clip store attached to your profile, a social feed and a groups option (which I am still thinking about how to use best… perhaps a Panty Fetishists group?). Check out my AVN Stars here (and if you follow me you will get a special gift in your inbox).

MILF – Mum I’d Like to Fuck

Most people are aware that MILF stands for Mum I’d Like To Fuck (thank you perhaps to Stifler’s mum in American Pie… but I digress) but lots of people are not sure why MILFs are such a big deal. It is one of the biggest search terms consistently on major adult content sites so obviously it is of sought after content. But why? Well, my fans tell me it is a number of things. It is the perceived experience of an older woman, and particularly a mother, as we are generally quite well aware of our bodies having carried humans inside of them! There is also the taboo nature of being sexually attracted to a mum who could potentially be your mum’s friend, or the mum of YOUR friend. It all combines together into some very exciting fantasies! I have a number of clips where I play the MILF role, either in a humiliating/degrading way or a gentle nurturing way. Here is one of my latest Mommy clips.

PAWG – Phat Ass White Girl

So when I was first labelled with the PAWG tag, I had no idea what the heck people were talking about. Now this is a source of contention for a lot of people, who feel the term “PAWG” upholds racially discriminative systems, and is the feitshization (is that even a word?) of racial stereotypes. The argument is that performers should describe themselves as “curvy” or “big ass” instead. Here is my take: as much as you try, you will NEVER make porn PC (politically correct for those who are here for the acronyms). There are bigger moves to remove BBC (big black cock, another porn acronym), interracial, ebony, oriental and even ahego as categories in adult entertainment. People have said “check in with black women to see what they think” (see this Twitter thread for more) and noone I have checked in with has had an issue. I get hatemail from plenty of white performers and SWERFS telling me to drop it. It remains a bone of contention for many people. Anyway, you can find a whole tonne of my content in the PAWG category on any of my clipsites. The most recent clip was “PAWG Pantyhose and Dildo Squirt” which you can find on ManyVids.

BBW – Big Beautiful Woman

Speaking of fetishization of bodies, we have BBW, or big beautiful women. I have absolutely no problem with this category in adult entertainment as I think it is about time that we have all body types represented in the industry and the term makes these performers easier to find. However, I do have a problem when I am placed in this category. Not because I don’t want to be associated with amazing performers who are kicking ass, but because I don’t qualify for this category and I will not take space that is dedicated to performers who do. As much respect as I have for my fans, I am not a BBW as some of you think. I am thick and curvy and packed in the back, but I am not a BBW.

Why you need to care about censorship…

Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil…

Censorship is on the rise, particularly when it comes to the internet. In the wake of FOSTA/SESTA legislation in the US, web based platforms have had to tighten up how they do business or risk being prosecuted. I have noticed a general trend towards conservatism, and if you haven’t, then this is your wake up call. I would hope that I am preaching to the converted with those who reach my blog, but if not, no judgement. However, I really think you should continue reading as I explain why you need to care about censorship.

Safe spaces for creativity and idea generation

Censorship stifles creativity by putting boundaries on what is acceptable. Why would you think outside the box when you have no way of getting outside of it? The most interesting and useful ideas are those that initially started at as being strange or a little offensive. And this takes courage to put those ideas out there, even if we have encouraging and supportive environments. If we don’t maintain safe spaces for this kind of exploration to occur, we are seriously jeopardising any kind of advancement.

Safe spaces for personal expression

A lot of the spaces which I am seeing targeted by increasing conservative ideals are social media, which people use as a tool to express themselves. Self expression is an absolute must for good mental health and well being. If we overly control people’s public places for expressing themselves by attaching rules around acceptable and unacceptable expression, we are smothering people’s authentic emotions and thoughts. This kind of control is fertile ground for a range of issues which will express themselves in different ways. People yearn to be heard and to have their existence acknowledged. By saying, “only this kind of thought, idea, expression is valid”, you are telling people who do not fit this mould that they are not valid.

Bleeding Out

The belief that censorship affects only the things it targets is naieve to the way it operates in real life. Censorship is applied to people, topics and spaces in a highly subjective way. It has to operate in this way because the things it tries to control are in themselves subjective. That means that it will be applied mistakenly to things that do not apply, because it relies on the people in control to make a call as to if it is an appropriate application. In the wake of FOSTA/SESTA legislation a whole range of platforms and topics came under attack. Sexual education, consensual sex work and erotic art have been banished from platforms where they once flourished. This kind of censorship also affects a wide range of apps we use each day. For example, you may not know that there are terms of service you must abide by to use Skype. That sexy conversation you are having with your girlfriend while she is overseas is actually a breach of the accepted use of the platform. True story.

The Voice of the Voiceless

The expansion of censorship also has another effect not often considered. Because censorship particularly targets the views of the minority, oppressed and already disenfranchised, it silences those voices of people already struggling to gain airtime. LGBTQi people, POC, women and sex workers are already being excluded from places online because the primary issues facing them have their roots deep into issues that censorship attacks. Sex positivity, sexual expression, and gender equality all fall victim to censorship which does not encourage conversation around their topics.

Connectedness

When we stop people sharing and talking about things which motivate them, we are installing walls around them, creating silos instead of fostering connection. If your goal is to create a disconnected society where people cannot band together for support, information sharing and encouragement, then censorship is a perfect tool to ensure these things cannot happen. And this should frighten everyone. Because why would we want this to happen? Why would we be so concerned about potentially offending someone when the consequence of protecting people from offence is isolation and silencing of individuals?

So, if you enjoy meeting likeminded people, seeing sexy videos, experiencing groundbreaking art, talking to your loved ones in your underwear on video calls, then you really need to care about censorship. Aside from all the reasons I have presented here. Just saying…
