Switching between apps is way easier on multiple screens, as it takes the hassle out of moving data between them. In short, I can be researching on one screen, and writing on another. In saying that, though, I reckon I need a bigger screen!
Mini Altar
Did you think that I would have a mini altar among my must have office items? Well, I do! Staying focussed on the why I am doing what I am doing is crucial. Sennheiser Headphones

I am tall, but people may not realise how big my feet really are. I am an Australian size 12 in ladies shoes (so a 43 in Euro sizing). And it is true what they say; as you get older and especially after having children, your feet get bigger!

Here is another fun fact about my feet… I have very flat feet and actually have used orthotics throughout my life to help support my feet. I am used to having very sore feet and legs just because of the amount of strain put on areas that it shouldn’t be. The result of having no foot arch!
I now see a physiotherapist who is helping me manage this better by building up the muscles in my feet. (Yes, you can build strength in that part of your foot!). Lots and lots of broken bones
Speaking of cracking bones, I have broken the bones in my feet and toes multiple times.
I trained and rode horses for many years, and there is a reason people don’t wear thongs/flip flops around them. When they step on you, they can do some serious damage! Some of them really like to step on people and it doesn’t matter. If they are a full grown horse or just a pony, they can break bones. I have broken the bones in my right foot like this. As you generally walk horses on that side. And that is when they can suddenly decide to move over and crush your foot. Even wearing durable boots, human feet are no match for horse’s hooves!
I have broken my toes more times than I can remember, specifically my little toes and the big toe on my left foot. The big toe on my left foot was broken during taekwondo training and my left ankle bone also sustained some significant damage while destroying my exes room in his sharehouse.

I am a massive horror movie fan. Anything that is dark, macabre, creepy and has a gothic vibe will easily make my list of favourite movies. There are so many films that I love, but I promised that I would keep it to only 5 films. Keeping it only to 5 is going to be a struggle and excluding TV series is going to make my heart ache…
But these are the horror movies (or franchises) that have stood the test of time in my scary movie collection. All classics, in my opinion.
Without further ado and in no particular order, let’s jump straight into it!
The Omen
The Plot:
Speaking of jumping straight into it, The Omen has a lot of literal (and metaphorical) jumps, leaps and falls.
An influential political guy unwittingly enters into a deal with the devil when his wife delivers their first child stillborn. Apparently, adopting an unknown baby, who turns out to be the son of Satan is this guy’s preferred solution to the problem of telling his wife that their natural child didn’t survive. He soon learns that he missed the memo that the Book of Revelations prophesied the return of the unclean one on the 6th hour of the 6th day of the sixth month, the day and time of his son’s stillbirth.
Naturally, strange antics ensue as the Son of Satan grows older and the US’s ambassador to the UK decides that all these people high on Jesus might actually be speaking the truth, he sets about rectifying the situation. Again. With similar success.
Why I Love It:
This film was released in 1976 and it definitely is a classic of that era of film-making. The plot is just so perfect, and couple this with the odd ways of creating suspense and the excellent performances by Gregory Peck and Lee Remick, it is a film I come back to time and time again. It is the first in a series, and quite frankly, the following movies are a bit of a yawn fest. Stick with the original and the best, in my honest opinion.
PS The Omen was remade in 2006 with Julia Styles in the role of Mrs Thorne and Mia Farrow as Mrs Baylock. It is almost a line for line, scene for scene copy of the original, so was devastatingly disappointing.
This parallel world can be accessed via a Lemarchand puzzle box, the solving of which promises all the pleasures imaginable.
Obviously, the existance of a gateway to a new type of hell is bound to lead to some pretty interesting adventures. Although there are a couple of movies in the franchise which are connected by characters, the majority of Hellraisers are stand alone explorations of the places where our world and the Labyrinth meet.

House of 1000 Corpses
The Plot:
A family of sexual sadists living out in the middle of fuck knows where America, kidnap and torture whoever comes across their path as part of a fine family tradition. The first in a series of films by Rob Zombie, we are introduced to the ultimate house of horrors.
Why I Love It:
When this came out in the cinema, I saw it three times. Not only is it the directorial debut of Rob Zombie, but it absolutely lived up to the hype of taking the slasher film to a new level. Outstanding performances by Sheri Moon and veteran performers Karen Black and Sid Haig with the unsettling direction and cinematography of Zombie just make it an awesome film to watch. I have to definitely count this movie as an inspiration behind my own work.
The Shining
The Plot:
A struggling writer decides to take a job as a winter caretaker in a hotel in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. With his wife and son in tow, he unwittingly falls victim to the malevolent entities which haunt the empty hotel, and yep, you guessed it, horrific antics ensue.
Why I Love It:
Two words: Stanley Kubrick. This film is not only written by one of the best writers of the modern era (based on Stephen King’s book of the same name) but it is also directed by one of the most iconic directors of modern film. The styling and cinematography is absolutely top notch and every time I watch it (at least once a year), I am completely swept away. Although criticism has been made of the performances (particularly that of Shelley Duvall) and that “iT jUsT dOeSn’T mAkE sEnSe”, I think it is pretty much one of the most perfect movies ever. There. I said it.
Evil Dead
The Plot:
A group of friends head out to a creepy cabin deep in the woods, planning a weekend of fun and frivolity. However, the discovery of a book made out of human skin and a recording of some ancient summoning words which of course had to be played, results in the waking of evil entities. Chaos ensues as each member of the group becomes possessed by said entities and does things that cannot be classified as fun or frivolous.
Why I Love It:
Evil Dead is one of those classic horror films, whose basis on a world containing a Necronomicon (Book of the Dead), has inspired many a subsequent film, story and TV show. Yes, the special effects are pretty lame (in keeping with the time it was made) and there seems to be an extraordinary amount of blood and vomit and other gross bodily fluids in each of the possessed victims but THIS is what does it for me. The absolute absurdity. I love over the top movies because this is the ultimate escapism for me. By the way, the 2013 remake, is an excellent re-telling of the story, adding additional plot lines that contribute to the isolation of the group, and taking the actions of the possessed to new, horrifying levels. Definitely one of my favourite remakes.

Yes, it’s true, my birthday is coming up on November 12. This through and through Scorpio is celebrating another year on this planet and there are many ways that you can celebrate with me. And what better opportunity than on my birthday?

One of the major symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS) is a sensitivity to temperatures and temperature changes. For some, this means that cold temperatures cause them issues, but for me, it is heat and humidity. Heat results in a number of issues but for someone trying to be sexy with MS, it is particularly difficult.
Thinking Clearly
When the weather is warm, I am talking over 25 degrees celsius, one of the problems I have is trouble thinking clearly. Trouble thinking clearly is something lots of people with MS report, and getting too hot makes the problem even worse for me. And that is even before I start performing!
I love doing live shows but it is hard when I get very hot and can’t think clearly. Live shows require you to think quickly and respond in an appropriate way, and when your brain decides it is too hot and doesn’t want to work anymore, it is hard to respond to a crowd yelling at you online. Likewise, when I receive messages and comments from people, if I am feeling too hot, I may not understand the message clearly and respond poorly or not at all.
How do I handle brain fog that is due to the heat? I slow everything down. During a live show, I may put in a long pause to keep the crowd hanging on the edge of their seat, or a respond in long… drawn out… sentences. Just so I can get my thoughts together.
Same with responding to comments and messages; I am someone who likes to respond in a timely manner to people, but I am learning that it is ok to stop… pause… consider the message… consider my reply…. and then send it.
When filming videos and things get too hot and I can’t think, I do a couple of different things. First of all, I have a good plan before I start filming of what I want to do in the clip. That way I don’t have to think on the spot for what I want to do. Second, I make sure I can schedule intervals where I can rest and cool down so that my brain has time to recover and keep working as it should.
Fatigue
Fatigue is the number one biggest issue that people with MS have to deal with. This isn’t the “I had a big night last night” tiredness we have all experienced. This is a mind numbing, concrete encasement feeling that doesn’t get better with rest and sleep. One of the things that makes it worse? The heat!
Fatigue is related to brain fog but it also has some extra impacts on trying to get my work done. In the summer time, where here in Australia we can have temperatures up to and over 40 degrees celcius, I would struggle to get out of bed. I mean, to sit up, stand up and go to the toilet. That level of struggle. People may say “well I struggle to get out of bed too”… once again this is another level of struggle. This is “I need to eat” or “I need to go to the toilet” but “I can’t make my body do it.”
Even stuck in bed, I could be so tired that doing work on my phone would still be too much. Keeping my eyes open, and dealing with pulsing body pain is not so conducive to doing anything work related.
How do I deal with fatigue when things get too hot? Well, I have to pace myself very carefully. On hot days, if I do too much, I know it will completely wipe me out physically. It is always a case of checking in with myself “how am I feeling? Is this too much? Am I too hot? How can I make myself more comfortable so I am not so tired?” On really hot days, it means I don’t work at all. And luckily, this job gives me the flexibility to have a day off if I need it.
Sweating and Flushing
When you get hot, you sweat and you get flushed right? There isn’t anything spectacularly different about that. Except when you have heat sensitivity it comes on very fast and is very intense. Facial flushing is a less common symptom of MS, but one that I definitely have to deal with.
When taking photographs and videos, I am generally under professional photography lights which warm up the space around them. Add into this mix if I am stripping or playing, and I start to sweat very quickly. Sweat is an issue with makeup running for one thing. Not that I wear a lot of makeup but even a small amount of makeup combined with sweat equals makeup getting ruined in zero seconds flat. Makeup running into your eye is no joke either; it is super irritating. Although sweat gives a nice sheen to the skin, having actual droplets visible is not too cute.
My skin is very pale, so the other consequence of getting overheated is that my skin flushes and I look very red in no time. It is a little embarrassing when people comment on it during a live show, saying, “your ass is really red.” Yeah, my dude. It is. I am freaking boiling here!
To combat this, I do a few things. I film video during the coolest times of the day. I run a fan when I am taking photos, but this doesn’t work so well for videos, when the whine of the fan is audible. I use a fan during live shows and put it in a position where it won’t interfere too much with the mic. But I also make a lot of jokes about the heat during my live shows so that my audience understand that I get very hot very quick.
