I am now using OnlyFans – so what is the deal?

I have been anti-OnlyFans for a very long time, but now I am actively promoting my paid content on that site. What is going on?

If you have followed me for a length of time. You would know I am not a big fan of OnlyFans.

In my blog post about this site, I explained how I think OnlyFans have accomplished something very elegant. But it has done this at a great detriment to sex workers; they are capitalising on sex work whilst developing the major consumer group of the platform. Which are people who do not support sex work.

This strategy has reaped enormous benefits for OnlyFans, making them one of the top online “fansites”. People who do not consume porn openly know what the site hosts. Albeit not being privvy to the nuances of the tactics that OnlyFans are using.

The mainstreaming of OnlyFans has also lead people to start creator accounts. If understanding the impact that being involved in the adult industry can have life. Regardless if they stay in it or not. Because the site is not promote by porn site. I guess people see it as a “safe” option to make a bit of extra cash.

This attitude in and of itself is problematic to those of us who have made a career in the industry. We have to deal with the daily, negative consequences dealt by a world that still loves to consume adult content. But doesn’t see the people who work in it as being deserving of the rights that other workers take for granted.

My OnlyFans Account

So if you are late to the party, this is my past and current stance. Why, you ask, do you have an OnlyFans account then?

I had a free OnlyFans profile since the site began, and basically used it as a way to secure my username there, and also direct traffic to my other sites that advocate and support sex workers, as opposed to capitalise on their content.

However, I noticed something strange happening.

Despite not promoting my profile anywhere, I was steadily gaining followers and people were tipping me. Even though I would vehemently say “PLEASE DON’T TIP ME HERE, I DON’T WANT TO GIVE ONLYFANS ANY OF MY MONEY” , people kept chucking money at me.

I subsequently found out that people were finding my OnlyFans after viewing my profile on PornHub. What my followers were telling me was that after viewing my PornHub profile, they would open OnlyFans and my profile would be suggested to them.

The interaction between OnlyFans and PornHub raises even more questions as to how these sites work together. But at a basic level, I am pumping a lot of energy into my PornHub profile, so it makes sense that I would see more activity on my OnlyFans. I am not a fan of capitalism (if you have had the pleasure of listening to any of my rants on that subject), but I also need money to survive.

Enter my paid content on OnlyFans. This part of the story is called “if you can’t beat them, join them.”

What You Will Find on My Only Fans

I don’t do a traditional OnlyFans account, with a monthly subscription. Instead, I release full length PTV clips a couple of times a week and a full clothed to nude PTV photoset once a week. Perhaps a monthly subscription with this content would make me more money, but I am still rebelling against the idea of giving this corporation any of my money.

I am an anarchist, idealist at heart. Furthermore, I am not good at going back on my word but here we are.

Don’t panic, I will still talk smack about platforms who profit off of the most vulnerable, marginalised and oppressed people, even while I use their services. Some things will never change. Welcome to late stage capitalism, my friends.

Help Me! What Does That Acronym Mean?

The adult content creation industry is filled with acronyms. It helps us shorten down lengthy names that we have to repeat over and over again, and it also helps talk about things in discrete ways with a certain amount of privacy. I have previously written a list of acronyms but I thought it was time to do an update of the acronyms I am asked about most frequently, this time including a bit of a description as well to help you on your way. The times they are a-changing, and that means what we use to describe ourselves and what we do must also change too.

SW – Sex Worker

This one has always been a bit funny for me, having worked in human services for coming up two decades. The acronym SW in that field stands for “social worker” and is used quite a lot (especially in casenotes, reports etc). So when I started to see it written in relation to strippers, full service providers, camgirls, pornstars and phone sex operators, I would have these moments of confusion. What the hell are these people talking about? Let’s just say context is everything.

CBT – Cock and Balls Torture

Another one which gave me some awkward times as I began negotiating the world of BDSM and providing therapy. CBT in a therapeutic setting stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is a therapy that helps people change problematic behaviours. In BDSM, it is about treating the family jewels in an extremely aggressive way, all the while with consent. It could be thought of as a behaviour modification program too I guess.

JOI/JOE – Jerk Off Instruction/Encouragement

This is one of my top requested video types. Basically, it is an interactive experience where I talk you through exactly how I want you to touch yourself. A lot of models will abbreviate clipsite names because a) it is easier when we are talking about them all the time (that is the main purpose of an acronym!) and b) because saying the whole word can get us in trouble on non-adult friendly platforms (looking right at you Instagram). PornHub have run into a little bit of trouble of late, with Mastercard and Visa pulling out of allowing them to use them as a payment method (banks and the war on porn is worthy of a whole post in itself). So Visa are currently on a hold with PornHub while Mastercard have called quits for good. This means that PornHub is attempting to do a cleanup, not allowing unverified content on the platform and reviewing clips before allowing them to go live, in the hope that Visa will reconsider their withdrawal. ManyVids is my go-to adult site right now and I am growing it as much as possible. ManyVids works for me because they have all the features my fans love. I absolutely understand that a lot of people are doing it tough right now; physically, emotionally and financially. And liking a video helps too because the calculation on what a model gets paid takes into account the percentage of likes on their content. Follow your favourite adult content creators, like and comment on their posts, retweet and help promote their product to a wider audience. Being active and present on your favourite models Twitter is important in helping us try to beat the algorithm as Twitter has made it known that they are actively restricting content they deem offensive. Sad but true. Pro-tip: on your favourite model’s account page, there is a little bell next to the follow button. Click on that and you will be notified when they post a new Tweet. Due to the consistent shadowbanning, we could be posting every hour of the day and you may never know unless you hit that little notification bell. Visit our Clip Sites

Even if you can’t purchase clips, content or services at the moment, it always helps if you visit our clip sites and show some love on our profiles. Like clips, watch free clips and give a review, if you have bought clips in the past and haven’t reviewed them, go and do that. Follow your favourite creators too because some sites give rewards to creators who get their follower numbers up. The main one I am referring to here is ManyVids. Also on ManyVids, you can look at a model’s About Me section and like their attributes. Doing that helps with our rankings too, which in turn helps promote us on the site. Contest Voting

Most clip sites have some form of contests on them to help connect and engage consumers and models. For some features, you will require cash, but most have a free voting option. Not only does free voting help, but boosting models call for support in contests on your social media will help too. AP Clips have regular contests and although I haven’t entered one yet, I would love to hear your thoughts on my account on that platform.

Reddit

Reddit is also another platform which has a NSFW section. I am new to Reddit, so I am still finding my way around it. But from what I can gather, for people to grow on there, they need others to support them through following them, upvoting their posts and crossposting their content to relevant communities. Reddit involves a system of “karma” and you need to have good/high “karma” in order to reach larger audiences. (Sidenote: calling this system “karma” really does amuse me). So on Reddit, follow your favourite creators on their communities, upvote their posts and if you have better “karma” than they do, crosspost into communities where their target audience can be seen. For example, crossposting me into Big Ass or PAWG subreddits would be super helpful. Check out my Reddit here and be gentle with me; as I said, I am an absolute newbie there.

Five Fun Facts About My Butt

Welcome Back to our Regular Programming…

Well… almost. Let me bring you up to speed…

The last two months have pretty much been a wipeout for me. I have been very ill with a chronic medical condition which actually landed me in hospital for two weeks, pondering some potentially very serious consequences for me. After an extremely intense round of treatment (including cortizone and chemotherapy), I am back home recovering. I am at a point where I can actually write a blog post now, which was unthinkable a couple of weeks ago when I was managing the side effects of the heavy medications I am on now.

Although things are now back under control, this episode means I have a new management plan and need to review what I am doing to avoid my condition being exacerbated further. The goal is not to end up back in hospital having organs removed. So I am slowly easing back into it, which is very difficult for my personality type; balls to wall 24/7.

At the moment, I am doing a few administrative tasks that I have left undone for too long. I am working through uploading my 200 clips to my Clips 4 Sale and PornHub sites, and I am re-editing old content and making things look pretty while I am building my strength back up. Fun fact: I squatted down the other day and couldn’t get back up. The strength in my thick thighs and butt disappeared along with 10kgs (22 pounds) of muscle… a side effect of huge doses of cortizone.
